Alexandra, 15 is a tenth grader at Carman-Ainsworth High School in Flint Township. Alexandra is looking forward to a career in the entertainment industry and would like to be an actress. Her extra-curricular activities at school include playing softball. Her interests include music, watching movies and spending time with her family and friends. Tyesha is 15 and a 10th grader at Northern High School. Tyesha is looking forward to a career as a medical assistant. Her extra-curricular activities at school include participating in the Genesee County Science Fair, youth choir, the tennis team, and drama. Tyesha is an honor roll student, and has received awards for academics, perfect attendance, and citizens.
Her interests include fishing,
bowling, roller skating, swimming, attending Christian camp at Riverside
Tabernacle, reading, writing, singing, and performing volunteer work in the

Asia, 17 is a tenth grader at Flint Schools of Choice. Asia is looking forward to a career as a pediatrician. Her extra-curricular activities at school include serving as a member of the Young Education Society (YES) Club. Her interests include reading and writing.

Judea is a tenth grader at Flint Central High School. Judea aspires to be a veterinarian. She is a member of the school choir and the track and field team at central. She participates in the NAACP Freedom School, NAACP ACT-SO program, the Agape Baptist Church youth group and choir, and volunteers at the Flint Public Library. She enjoys writing poetry, traveling, reading, and meeting people. Judea is the daughter of Jacqueline W. Mims of Flint. |

Herschel is
looking forward to a career as a zoologist or biologist. His
extra-curricular activities at school include playing on the football team,
and the Road Runners basketball team. He serves as the coach of an
elementary school basketball team, and a mentor and reading tutor for
students at Doyle-Ryder School. He is the secretary of the Kappa Leadership
League and he is a member of Rose of Shared Lodge Jr. Stars. He attends
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he is in the youth choir and youth
department. His interests include reading, writing, public speaking,
spending quality time with family and friends.

Douglas 16, is a tenth grader at Flint
Central High School.
Douglas aspires to be a military officer and serve as a robotics engineer or
missile guidance controller. He is a member of the school football team, Jr.
ROTC leadership programs, drill team, color guard, and he participates in
culinary arts at Central. He enjoys participating in community service
activities, sports and model rocketry. He was recently nominated for
the National Youth Defense League program. |
